What Are the Named Glyco Mode Interactions?

Glyco Mode interactions are not on the label. They come from the sources behind each ingredient. Four of them are specific enough to act on, and this page sets them out one by one.

By the GlycoMode Editorial Desk · Published · Last updated November 4, 2026 · how we check facts

Quick answer

Four Glyco Mode interactions are named in the sources: bitter melon with insulin and diabetes medicines, wild yam with hormone-sensitive cancer, horny goat weed with heart disease and CYP3A4 drugs, and garcinia cambogia with liver history. None can be sized, because no ingredient amount is published.

Read this first

This page is general information, not medical advice. GlycoMode is a dietary supplement. It is not FDA approved, and no supplement is. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Ask your own doctor before you use it, and say so if you take insulin or any diabetes medicine.

Key facts

  • Bitter melon with insulin and diabetes medicines: advised against because it may have additive effects.
  • Wild yam with hormone-sensitive cancer: oestrogenic effects, so speak to a physician.
  • Horny goat weed (epimedium) with heart disease, CYP3A4 substrate drugs and aromatase inhibitors: avoid.
  • Garcinia cambogia with liver history: NIH records liver toxicity cases; causality is not established.
  • Apple cider vinegar: documented chemical burns, oesophageal injury, liver toxicity and pancreatitis cases in the monograph we cite.
  • None of these is printed on the bottle, and none can be scaled to the capsule.

Where do Glyco Mode interactions come from?

Not from the bottle. The label prints a general caution only. The detail comes from the monographs and fact sheets for each plant, which this site reads and quotes.

That means the interactions belong to the ingredients, not to the finished product. No one has tested the finished formula. So you should read each one as: this ingredient is known to do this, and this capsule contains this ingredient.

It is a fair way to think about risk, and it is also a limit. We cannot tell you how large any interaction would be.

Which four Glyco Mode interactions have names?

The four named interactions, with the source behind each.
IngredientInteracts withWhat the source says
Bitter melon extractInsulin and diabetes medicinesAdvised against; it may have additive effects
Wild yam extractHormone-sensitive cancerOestrogenic effects; speak to a physician first
Horny goat weed (epimedium)Heart disease, CYP3A4 substrate drugs, aromatase inhibitorsAvoid; reported rapid heartbeat (tachyarrhythmia) and hypomania
Garcinia cambogia powderLiver historyThree mania cases and ten liver toxicity cases in NIH records, with one death and two transplants; causality not established

The garcinia note has a caveat built in. NIH says causality cannot be established because the products involved contained several ingredients. Which, note, is exactly what this product is.

How should you read the bitter melon interaction among Glyco Mode interactions?

It is the one with the clearest action. Bitter melon is studied for glucose. If you also take insulin or another glucose-lowering medicine, the two can add together.

Cinnamon is in the same blend and is studied for glucose too. So two of the nine names point the same way. We do not know their amounts, and so we cannot say how much they add.

If you monitor your glucose, tell the person who set your targets. They may want you to check more often, or they may tell you to skip the capsule. Either is their call, not ours.

What about the hormone and heart interactions?

Wild yam and horny goat weed (epimedium) sit on the hormone side of the blend. Wild yam has oestrogenic effects, so a hormone-sensitive cancer is a physician conversation. Epimedium has a longer list: avoid with heart disease, avoid with CYP3A4 substrate drugs and avoid with aromatase inhibitors.

CYP3A4 is a common metabolic pathway in the body. Many medicines pass through it. If you do not know whether yours does, a pharmacist can tell you in a minute.

Neither warning is on the bottle. Both come from the cancer centre monographs this site cites.

Are there other cautions among Glyco Mode interactions?

Two more are worth a line. The apple cider vinegar monograph documents chemical burns from topical use, oesophageal injury from tablets and cases of liver toxicity and acute pancreatitis linked to consumption. This site reads the 8 oz glass of water in the directions as a sensible guard against that.

The cinnamon centre notes coumarin in cassia cinnamon as a concern for people with liver disease. This label names the lower-coumarin species, but the amount is still not published.

These are not named interactions in the same sense as the four above. They are cautions for particular readers.

Why can none of the Glyco Mode interactions be scaled?

Because the panel prints one weight for nine ingredients. Without a per-ingredient amount, no one can say whether an interaction is trivial or large.

A cautious reading is to treat each warning as applying, instead of assuming the amount is too small to matter. You have no way to know it is small.

That is also why this page does not rank the four by risk. We could only do so by guessing amounts, and we will not.

Frequently asked questions

What are the main Glyco Mode interactions?

Bitter melon with insulin and diabetes medicines, wild yam with hormone-sensitive cancer, horny goat weed with heart disease and CYP3A4 drugs, and garcinia with liver history.

Are these on the bottle?

No. The bottle prints a general caution. The detail comes from the cancer centre and NIH sources behind each ingredient.

Can the size of an interaction be worked out?

No. No individual ingredient amount is published, so no one can size an interaction.

What is CYP3A4?

A common metabolic pathway in the body. Many medicines pass through it. A pharmacist can tell you whether yours does.

Does the finished formula have interaction data?

No. No trial has been published on the finished formula. The interactions belong to the ingredients.

Who should I ask?

Your pharmacist or doctor, with the bottle in hand. Say that the amounts are not published.

Our view

The Glyco Mode interactions list is long because the blend is wide. Nine ingredients bring nine files of cautions, and four are specific enough to name.

None of that means the capsule will harm you. It means a person with a relevant medicine or condition has a good reason to ask before starting.

Take the bottle, say the nine names and say that the amounts are not published. That is the whole method.

GlycoMode is a dietary supplement. It is not FDA approved, and no supplement is. It is not a treatment for diabetes, and nothing here is a reason to change or stop a medicine. Ask your own doctor or pharmacist before you start, and take the bottle with you.
